Looks from Prada Menswear Fall 2012

These are absolutely stunning! Talk about dressing to impress, if only every man dressed like this!

My personal favourite; love the shirt and coat combined

Outfit envy Part 2

I've spent an hour on Style.com this morning and I've fallen in love with all of these outfits.....

Louis Vuitton. These soft and delicate shades are so sweet. I love wearing them, especially in my knitwear as they're easier to wear all year round –the soft colours compliment my mood for spring and summer, and the heavy fabric keeps me warm for winter.

Yves Saint Laurent. I’m taken by this stunning colour combination of peppermint and lavender, it’s a much softer and grown up take on last year’s ‘bold colour’ trend. I think this might be a good time to start experimenting with new colour combinations from my wardrobe! I’m also very keen on the tailoring of these outfits, especially number 2. The cut of the top and trousers is very neat but it also looks comfortable which I think is most important. The lavender gives it that ladylike finish and is quite a refreshing colour for a work wardrobe now that we’re moving into spring.

Proenza Schouler. There are two reasons I like these outfit choices. 1. The textures are the first thing I notice about them. I always like to mix and match various textures in my outfits as I feel it makes them so much more interesting, (colours are easy to match, textures are a little more complex). Making the textures of these outfits so prominent simply inspires me. And 2. The choice to use so much black for a S/S collection. I personally avoid wearing black during the warmer months as I find it too drab BUT these outfits are fantastic examples that black can be exciting and vivid for your summer wardrobe – especially the Hawaii print dress and the shorts and shirt.

Jil Sander. The fresh colours and crisp tailoring in these outfits are enough to get me in the mood for springtime. The paisley print, something I’d normally associate with a winter wardrobe, works fantastically well in these bright colours and is something I’d quite like to try for evening wear. The pretty and feminine skirts are my absolute favourite, if only I was a little taller.

Does anyone else think Vogue should do more illustrations for their covers?

Outfit envy

Back when the Resort 2012 collections were released I saw these outfits from Celine on http://www.style.com/ and I'm still obsessing over them.  Don't you just love them?

I'd definitely substitute the white trousers for my black, skinny jeans and sport black sandals instead of white, but otherwise these would be the ideal outfits for my work wardrobe this month.

Keep an eye out for a post in about six months time when I finally find the perfect pieces (within my price range) to pull these off.

Style Tip: Big belts are going to be huge for S/S '12 so keep an eye out for them

Styling Michelle - December shoot

These images are from a shoot I styled back in December. My client was Michelle Blow, a fabulous lady who is one of the North East’s foremost marketing and events experts. Currently working as Marketing and Events Director for Hilary Florek PR, Michelle has organised and coordinated events around the globe, including presidential dinners and royal visits. Wow!

Our focus for the shoot was to assist Michelle in looking her professional best. My role was to source outfits and accessories to compliment Michelle's typical work wardrobe and her personal style.

Before sourcing the outfits I wanted to find out a little bit about Michelle's personal style and her interests in fashion.

"I'm a huge fan of timeless and versatile items of clothing that will take me from day to night, season to season. I believe in investing in my wardrobe and not getting caught up buying into the lastest fads, as trends fade but a timeless look never goes out of fashion."

"I tend to stick to the same colours and silhouettes that I know suit me, I think that's a really important part of my outfits. Oh, and I'm a BIG Louboutin fan!"

Sticking to Michelle’s own style, I chose feminine dresses ideal for the successful, career woman. I focused mostly on finding the right colours and chose some of last season’s jewel tones as well as a few bolder hues to compliment her natural colouring. Doesn’t the garnet look stunning on her?

For the cut, the dresses all cinched at the waist where Michelle is most petite and hugged at the hips to show off Michelle's perfect curves. With the colours and cut 'just right', I built up the outfits using statement pieces of jewellery.
