Bridal styling....it's been a while

I couldn't help but be inspired by these bridal gowns I saw recently, they offer simplicity and elegance rolled into one.

I’ll admit these gowns are most suited to destination weddings, but the refined details could easily be plucked and used to adorn a dress more suited to a wedding at home.  Namely the embroidery on the Catherine Deane gown, which is beautifully done, yet the elegant bows from the back of the Roberto Rodriguez gown wouldn’t look out of place either.  (Could these be the replacement for the popular button detailing?)

The Thread gown also offers inspiration.  With an increase in the number of my brides looking for two dresses for their wedding day (one for the ceremony, one for the evening reception) the idea of having a dramatic floor length skirt for the ceremony, which can then be removed to reveal a slick cut, shorter style for dancing in the evening, is starting to make perfect sense.

Then there’s the Calvin Klein gown, simplicity at its best. Offering inspiration with its graceful silhouette, I can see this becoming a favourite with brides wanting understated elegance for their big day.
